Scanning Tunnelling Lego Probe
Probe

This robot scans a probe in three dimensions to find the shape of an object. It transmits the contour data to a workstation for plotting.

Truck
Truck

This articulated vehicle uses rack-and-pinion steering to keep the trailer backing in a straight line.

FetchBot
FetchBot

This robot searches for dark objects to grab, lift and deposit elsewhere. The grabber and the arm are driven by one motor.

Plotter
Plotter

This plotter draws line-art on a sheet of paper. It also has a light sensor for scanning low resolution images.

Clock
Clock

This clock uses the RCX to keep accurate time on a conventional analog clock face. It has compact gearing and coaxial hour and minute hands.

Car
Car

This car has pneumatic active suspension that can raise each corner of the vehicle independently.

VCR
VCR

This VCR has a motorized top-loading deck, a working tape reel drive and IR remote control.

Calipers
Calipers

These digital calipers measure internal and external dimensions and depths up to forty studs, in half-stud increments.

Helicopter Rotor
Helicopter Rotor

This improved rotor design for the 8444 Air Enforcer twists the blades as they rotate, rather than tilting them.

Pneumatic Valve
Pneumatic Valve

This valve is based on Linc's design. It is a little more solid, and adds a touch sensor at the center of throw.

Check out the Ferraris' book on building Lego Mindstorms robots. The authors have built some really beautiful stuff.
